New York City in 35mm!

Finally getting round to putting up some photo's from our massive road trip from last year, I've broken it down into parts so here's the first 4 days that we spent in New York. You can read about what we got up to here, here & here! I'm having a good laugh just reading back on what we did, I'm glad I kept a wee blog of everything and all the little magical moments that have been lost over the last year!

DO IT! # 1 at Cellar 35!

DJ Riddim & Jonny B with Visuals by MOC (Me). The night is about getting down to some good tunes, meeting new people and getting some free shit. For the first night (07.11.08) we had Alistair Allan drop in a few of his new Entrails zines. This things have been made with love, ill be adding pics and details of them soon. Hopefully well have another night on in December and then take it from there. Check out Cellar 35's Bebo here .

Local Film Makers Wanted!!!

Do you make films? DO you know someone who makes films? Would you like to make films? I'm looking for local people to submit films for a monthly film showcase for local talent. All films are welcomed, short films, documentaries, music promos, skate / snow / surf movies, everything will be given a play. All we need is for you to get in touch and hopefuly we can create a new relaxed cinema experience. The main aim of the night is to give local video makers a platform for getting their work seen by a wide audience, kind of a mix between showing your films to friends and family and going to the cinema so see a blockbuster. I know there's a lot of you out there so dont hesistate to get in touch. E Mail me on mood_of_collapse@hotmail.co.uk .  This is the space well be using for the movie nights. Films are visible from out side on the street. Inside will probably have pictures on the walls as this is a gallery space, which should make it fun to hold events in...

All Work & Some Play!

Its was a busy weekend for Peacock Visual Arts with not one but two new shows opening. In the main gallery you can see North West by Katri Walker . A nice installation and short film exploring Scotland's connection to the wild west and the visual culture surrounding it. There's a very nice installation piece along the centre of the space with changing back drops which will instantly transport you to the land of cowboys & indians! The opening also featured some real Scottish cowboys who put on a real show for everyone which ended in a shoot out! Just another day at the office for some! Through in the main building you can see WORK , the BA Hons Printmaking students pre degree show show! I knew quite a few of the artists exhibiting in the show but was still blown away by the quality of the work, I usually find these kind of shows a bit underwhelming but I was really impressed by the breadth and depth of the work.
