FUTURISING by Kieran Mccruden @ Limousine Bull!

After watching Kieran hammer, saw, screw, photograph, process and print for the last 4 months its great to see his final piece installed and his prints framed at Limousine Bull. His latest show, Futurising opened last Friday and here's a few snaps of what you missed! I really wanted to get in the pilots seat and see what happened but I was too scared, I only hope its going to end up back down the studio so I can have a shot. Although the guy below had a shot just as I turned my back and when I looked round he was gone, the faint echo of a "Wooooooooooooooo" reverbing round the space?

Deen Scene - Good Stuff #20!

So it's another art & culture round up and fear not, there'll be no mention of creative funding opportunities here! Instead I like to focus on things that have given me a boost, whether its individual artists, projects or musical mixtapes. I've always been interested on what's happening here in Aberdeen but also what's happening further afield and with friends scattered across the globe I'm inundated with photos and videos of what they're up to and its nice to share some of their content and to build up better connections. Of course you can't overlook the Granite City and all that it has to offer, especially for the avid tiktoker. Yes, I've taken the plunge and have been using the app for a few weeks now and I have to say its fun. Mood of Collapse x 10 at Kekun Studio!

Its almost a month since the MoC x 10 show and I don't think I've had a minute to stop and think about it all. It  came about in a whirlwind and 9 days later it was over. Although we did have some late visitors who managed to get a look before the photos and artworks came down. It was a real pleasure for me to show artwork from such talented friends, most of whom I met through the blog and looking back through a decade of photos and videos really brought back some happy memories. But before getting into the show I really need to jump back to the start. So 10 years of writing about art and culture in little old, boring Aberdeen , the place where nothing cool ever happens and everyone's just sitting counting their money in granite castles. 'Printland' by Peacock Visual Arts at W OR M!

'Printland' is back for its second year running (check out some snaps from 'Printland' year 1 here ) as the print archives from Peacock Visual Arts explode across the walls and tables at their new project space W OR M. Its been a busy year for Peacocks as an organisation with new director Nuno Sacremento bringing a fresh perspective. With the very foundation of Peacocks lying in the realm of print its great to have this annual celebration not just of their past victories but also a showcase of their years activities. Scattered across the walls and tables you'll find prints some of their most notable artists including Adam Bridgland , Ralph Steadman, David McCracken  and Toby Paterson but there's a healthy mix of new work to admire from the likes of William Moulding ,  Tom Hammick and Donald Urquhart , who's also completed their first mural in the alley next to W OR M. The mural marks a step into the world of street art or at least art in the a...
