'Sponsored Content' by Jess Connor at Foodstory Upstairs!

There's only a few more days to catch the current show at Foodstory, 'Sponsored Content' by Jess Connor. I've been following Jess on instagram (follow him here) and enjoy his insightful and humorous drawings. He's also been adding some great pieces to the various legal walls around the city too and has been producing limited edition t shirts and zines for a while (check out his online shop here). With all that its amazing that he hasn't already had a proper show but I don't think Jess is an artists too concerned with conventions.

'Sponsored Content' centres around a series of large prints which poke fun at certain political leaders, alpha male narcissists and salubrious facebook CEO's. The prints are a maximal experience and convey a lot of information (including Trumps rump) and showcase one side of Jess creativity. The other side is tucked away down the side where you'll see a selection of smaller prints and a special zine, How To Be Happy. I'm always on the look out for good advice to I laid down my £5 and will be actively following Jess guidelines in search of my own happy place. I was also quite taken with the Tellytubby cook book print, my second print purchase of the day after buying a Frances Walker print at Peacocks.

'Sponsored Content' is a fun show and although it may seem quite simple on the surface as with most things of this nature there's a bit of time and energy gone into and its an achievement to be proud of. Jess is doing it on his own terms and that's inspiring too. Check out the show before it finishes and if you prefer to take in some art with tunes pumping and a beer in hand then head on down to the closing party (event details here) this Saturday!
